On June 25, 2013 I had the pleasure of photographing the birth of Miss Brooklynn Matt. I was extremely nervous because this was the first birth that I ever photographed. Tarri (Brooklynn's mom) was one of the first friends I'd met when I moved to Spokane, and I was honored when she asked me to document this life changing moment in her family’s lives.
I've never been a part of something so beautiful and magnificent.
I remember when Tarri texted me and told me she was on her way to the hospital after just sitting down to eat lunch, Brooklynn didn't want to wait any longer!
Going through and choosing photos made all the memories, as well as the stomach butterflies of the day come back. I remember walking into the delivery room and Tarri trying so hard to repress her pain because she was so excited to meet her little angel.
After a little over 4 hours of labor later, a perfect 8 pound, 13 ounces, 21 1/2 inch long bundle of girl arrived into this world. She was so precious.
I'd never seen something so new and innocent, something so tiny. I will never forget these moments. I will never forget the tears that rolled down my face as I tried to stay "professional" as I watched Tarri hold her baby girl for the first time.
Thank you Tarri and Victor for allowing me to be part of this wonderful experience, it truly changed my life.
